Grateful Life Community Church is a Disciples of Christ Church located in Huntsville, AL. They predominately serve the homeless, those living in shelters, below the poverty level, and at the edges of society. They provide clothing, tents, and hygiene supplies to anyone in need. In addition to the meals they serve every Sunday they operate an emergency warming center during the colder months that provides shelter for those living on the streets and their pets. Grateful Life is an LGBTQ+ embracing and loving church that welcomes everyone just as they are.
The yard sale portion saw donations flow in the week prior to the event from people from all walks of life. Items included new with tag clothing, a mobility scooter, jewelry, and a 3ft tall stuffed Minion toy. Sisters and Guards stood outside waving yard sale signs and inviting the whole community to join them. The largest item was the old church bus, which was sold in the sale.
The bake sale featured all home made goods including apple butter, peach jelly, pound cake, peanut butter fudge, muffins, the best banana nut bread this side of the Mississippi River and whoopie pies the size of a persons face. Items were donated by Elder Joe of Grateful Life, and a number of generous home bakers from across Madison County.
Sister Joan would like to give special thanks:

Left over clothing was donated to Grateful Life's clothing closet. Children's clothing, toys and cribs were donated to a local daycare. Left over bake sale items were used the following morning to serve with coffee at Grateful Life.
